How we're operating during
Covid 19
Updated : 11/05/2021
We are now able to welcome customers back onto the nursery again to browse and buy. We are open weekdays 9am to 5pm or by prior appointment at any other time, these times are subject to further Covid regulations and restrictions. Rose field will be open to visitors between July and October, (unattended) weather permitting and again subject to Covid Regulations at that time.
If visiting the nursery please only come if you and your household have displayed no symptoms of the virus, if attending you will be asked to respect social distancing guidelines staying 2m distant at all times. You will also be required to wear a facemask at certain times and places on the nursery to protect our staff. We request that card payments are used during this time where possible. Please call 01406 424089 if you would like to make an appointment outside our normal 9-5 weekday opening times.
Deliveries of orders are still continuing – we are dispatching Monday-Thursday every week. Most deliveries are being delivered within 1-3 days after dispatch. Delivery dates are not guaranteed although we always endeavour to meet your needs and is rarely an issue, if you require delivery for a special event or particular date, we strongly recommend you request a delivery date the day before actually needed to give us time to sort out any problems with the courier delivery service.

As a business running on mail order we are still currently able to operate. We are continuing to take extra steps on the nursery ensuring staff safety at home and at work, expanding the space we dispatch in so staff have space to spread out following distancing guidance and have been offered to Self Isolate and Social Distance.
We are contacting customers who have orders placed for delivery in the following weeks or months to bring their delivery dates forward. If this is you you will be contacted shortly, please bear with us whilst we contact everyone.
When you receive your rose order, it is perfectly safe for them to be left unopened in a cool dry place for up to 3 days if needed or you have any concerns over possible contamination of the Covid-19 virus whilst in transit to ensure the rose is safe to handle. Guidance has shown that the virus is unlikely to survive in different temperature conditions as it changes through environments (i.e our packing shed > couriers sorting > your home). When you do open your packaging, please open carefully and dispose of it safely & immediately, also washing your hands immediately after. If you do initially choose to leave your roses in their original packaging for 3 days maximum, there may well be some yellowing to the leaves evident once unpacked, however your rose will quickly recover after a few days once watered and left outside in strong light. Also check labelling on rose & pot for instructions before attempting to plant to ensure it is fully rooted into the compost, this is normally when the rose is in full leaf and starting to form flower buds.
Following the government guidelines, we are now unable to welcome visitors to the nursery to collect, if you are local please call us to discuss options we may be able to offer on 01406 424089.

Following the Government’s recent announcements with regard to Covid-19, we want to reassure you that, first and foremost, the health and safety of our customers and employees is of the upmost importance to us. We are taking extra precautionary steps on the nursery and we are closely monitoring government guidelines daily.
It is also important to us to maintain the high level of service for which we are known. At this time, we are still taking and processing orders online as usual. However, we ask our customers to please be patient with us, as orders may take longer to process with the precautionary measures we are putting in place during this period. We will endeavour to deliver on requested dates, however with the pressures on the couriers & Royal Mail this may not always be possible.
Please help our couriers and Royal Mail during this period by stating a safe place where a parcel can be left if possible. If you are self-isolating at present, please let us know by including in the delivery notes section at the checkout, using the phrase “Self-Isolating” so that we can include this on the parcel.
We recommend customers who are ordering as gifts to consider selecting “ASAP” as a dispatch date, as we are unsure what the following weeks will mean for us being able to dispatch or how certain areas of the country may be effected. We also recommend looking ahead in your calendars and considering upcoming events such as Father’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries.
Now is a fantastic time to plan your gardens for summer and freshen up your borders. Gardens are providing a peaceful sanctuary for many at this time, giving you an opportunity for fresh air and exercise. Of course, gardening is also a fantastic way to boost your mental health and wellbeing.
We endeavour to deliver roses to our customers for as long as we are able to.
