Rosa Banksia Rosea

Rosa Banksia Rosea produces rapid upright growth on strong lightly thorned stems, quickly covering buildings, walls and arches. An attractive light green elongated leaf to a glossy dark green with age and noticeable thorning underneath.
A spring flowering rose, producing good sized (upto 3") blooms of baby pink and deeper pink ruffled edged blooms with cream and white tones, flowering in one long flush. A rose perfect for bees, with gorgeous gold centred stamens and an unusual spicy fragrance.
Recommended planting in a full sun and semo-sheltered position, protect the base of the plant from severe winter weather.

Like all of the Banksiae varieties, these can flower in their first years - but may take a few years to do so until well established. Flowering on the last years growth, it is best to prune and shape after flowering, so the growth throuth the summer creates fresh growth for flowering the next year.

Note, 4th May 2021.
Our Rosa Banksia plants available for sale are currently still being grown in un-heated greenhouses and will require similar protection from frosts and cold wet weather in their first year (as currently being experienced around the UK).  Please continue to protect & grow on any Banksia plants ordered in May in a cold greenhouse until June when there is no further risk of frosts and warmer weather returns before planting outside into the final position checking carefully also that the pot has fully rooted.
