Delivery Info

Delivery Information & Prices

Please ensure you order bare root and potted orders separately otherwise a supplementary cost will be invoiced for a separate delivery charge for each order.

Potted/Container rose orders are currently being dispatched within 1-2 working days of ordering. Orders placed from mid-day on Thursday to Sunday during April to September will normally be dispatched the following Monday, (excluding bank holidays) to avoid the plants being without light or water for a long period whilst with the courier and preventing the plants from becoming stressed. At other times of the year our garden rose varieties can be dispatched from Monday to Friday without problem and please be assured that our roses are very robust, strong healthy stock and travel very well.

Bare-root rose orders will be dispatched in rotational order from November, there is a normal delay in November to clear the back log of orders placed over the summer and autumn, this backlog is normally cleared by early December subject to the weather both allowing us to lift and dispatch roses during this period, a bare-root rose can be planted anytime between November and March without problems and will flower as normal the next summer.

Due to plant import restrictions imposed by some countries, we are only able to dispatch container/potted roses to the United Kingdom. Bare root roses can be dispatched to the UK and to full member states of the European Union. Separate delivery charges apply to the EU, Highlands and Islands, details of postcodes with a surcharge for UK addresses can be found on this page and we will also advise you of delivery costs to Highlands, Islands and E.U when placing your order.

Rose deliveries normally require a signature upon delivery for unless otherwise instructed by you to leave in a safe place such as a porch, garage or neighbour as detailed whilst in the check out area.

SORRY, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO SEND CONTAINER/POTTED ROSES OR BARE-ROOT STANDARD ROSES TO THE E.U AT ANY TIME.

Non E.U Countries (Including U.S.A, Canada, Australia, New Zealand)

Unfortunately, due to Plant Health Regulations and Plant Passport restrictions of your country, it is not possible for us to send any of our roses to countries outside the E.U, if you purchase the roses whilst in the UK or arrange delivery to a UK address for future importation into your country, that is entirely at your own risk of having the goods impounded, returned to the UK or destroyed with possible subsequent fines or penalties to yourselves. We are not able to supply you with any plant passports or certification material .

Why is there a difference in delivery charges for bare-root and container?

Potted deliveries are more expensive than bare root as they are a much heavier product and have to be delivered by courier rather than Royal Mail. We are able to pack upto 30 bare-root roses in one paper sack, whereas each container bush rose will always require it's own individual box. Depending on the rose type, container roses are grown in a 3.5 to 5.5lt plastic pot containing a specially enriched loam based rose compost, and needs to be delivered promptly to ensure the rose does not dry out in summer months because of hot weather. Each container rose is a high quality, large specimen plant that will be in full bloom by the summer and is packed into it's own individual high quality and award winning box which has been specially designed by us, to ensure it is secure and does not move in the box during transit. We make no profit on the price charged for delivery but have to pass on the additional costs involved. YOU CAN BE WELL ASSURED THAT OUR CONTAINER ROSES ORDERED BY MAIL ORDER WILL ARRIVE IN GREAT CONDITION AND USUALLY WITH BUDS OR BLOOM ON DURING SUMMER MONTHS, WE WILL ALWAYS SELECT THE BEST AVAILABLE PLANT ON THE DAY OF DISPATCH.

The more you order, the cheaper the delivery rates per rose! Remember free UK mainland delivery for all ROSE orders exceeding £100!*

*Excludes Highlands and Islands

Delivery Dates

We always endeavour to deliver your rose for the delivery date requested when placing your order and this is rarely a problem, Orders are frequently ordered and dispatched on the same day, but customers requiring delivery for a specific date should give us reasonable warning of at least 2 weeks, We cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day due to reasons outside our specific control, although this is rarely a problem customers are strongly advised to take delivery of their roses required a for a specific date a few days before both to avoid any disappointment and allow us to sort out any problems that may have occurred with the delivery in time.

Delivery is on a Tuesday to Friday basis during the summer months, with deliveries on Saturdays incurring an additional cost, if you require delivery on Saturday please call to arrange. Deliveries cannot be made on Sundays, Bank Holidays or the day after a Bank Holiday. Please note that deliveries cannot be made on Mondays during the summer months as it means that they will be without sunlight or water for three days.

Should the date requested for delivery be a Saturday (without arrangement), Sunday, Bank Holiday or the day proceeding a Bank Holiday, the order will be dispatched for the next available day after the date.
