Potted/Container rose orders are currently being dispatched within 1-2 working days of ordering. Orders placed from mid-day on Thursday to Sunday during May to September will normally be dispatched the following Monday, (excluding bank holidays) to avoid the plants being without light or water for a long period whilst with the courier and preventing the plants from becoming stressed. At other times of the year our garden rose varieties can be dispatched from Monday to Friday without problem and please be assured that our roses are very robust, strong healthy stock and travel very well.
Bareroot rose orders will be dispatched in rotational order from November, there is a normal delay in November to clear the back log of orders placed over the summer and autumn, this backlog is normally cleared by early December subject to the weather both allowing us to lift and dispatch roses during this period, a bareroot rose can be planted anytime between November and March without problems and will flower as normal the next summer.
Due to plant import restrictions imposed by some countries, we are only able to dispatch container/potted roses to the United Kingdom. Bare root roses can be dispatched to GB. Separate delivery charges apply to the Highlands and Islands, details of postcodes with a surcharge for GB addresses can be found on this page and we will also advise you of delivery costs to Highlands and Islands when placing your order.
Rose deliveries normally require a signature upon delivery for unless otherwise instructed by you to leave in a safe place such as a porch, garage or neighbour as detailed whilst in the check out area.

Why is there a difference in delivery charges for bareroot and container?
Potted deliveries are more expensive than bare root as they are a much heavier product and have to be delivered by courier rather than Royal Mail. We are able to pack upto 30 bareroot roses in one paper sack, whereas each container bush rose will always require it’s own individual box. Depending on the rose type, container roses are grown in a 5.5lt plastic pot containing a specially enriched loam based rose compost, and needs to be delivered promptly to ensure the rose does not dry out in summer months because of hot weather. Each container rose is a high quality, large specimen plant that will be in full bloom by the summer and is packed into it’s own individual high quality and award winning box which has been specially designed by us, to ensure it is secure and does not move in the box during transit. We make no profit on the price charged for delivery but have to pass on the additional costs involved. YOU CAN BE WELL ASSURED THAT OUR CONTAINER ROSES ORDERED BY MAIL ORDER WILL ARRIVE IN GREAT CONDITION AND USUALLY WITH BUDS OR BLOOM ON DURING SUMMER MONTHS, WE WILL ALWAYS SELECT THE BEST AVAILABLE PLANT ON THE DAY OF DISPATCH.
The more you order, the cheaper the delivery rates per rose! Remember free GB mainland delivery for all ROSE orders exceeding £100!*
*Excludes Highlands and Islands
